Our charter was established November 1st, 1954.

Walter Saber was our first Business Manager from 1954-1955.

Thomas Walsh followed from 1955-1999. 

Don Kaczka followed from 1999-2017.

I am the current Business Manager/President of Local 1919.  I started as an apprentice in July of 1988 and joined the Executive Board in 2002.  I became Financial Secretary in 2007-2017 and became Business Manager/President in 2017.

We currently have about 640 members in Local 1919. Our jurisdiction is in Pennsylvania. At the present time we have contracts with Asplundh, Davey, Hazlett, Nelson and Penn line. We are always looking for qualified line clearance tree trimmers.

For those just starting out, we offer Apprentice classes, First Aid / CPR / AED classes, flagging classes and Pesticide Applicator Training classes to current members.

There is definitely strength in numbers.  More than ever, we must stay unified so that we can face upcoming challenges together.  If we stand together, there is nothing we can’t do.
